Volodymyr (29) is an ambitious careerist and a former Interpol employee. After the completion of his contract, he returns to his homeland with the intention of advancing his career in the Interpol Department of the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) and obtaining recommendations that would enable him to go abroad again. However, he is promised a good position in the MIA in exchange for a deal: he must become an “intern” to one extremely inconvenient investigator of the Internal Security Service of the MIA – Egor Bulatov (42), whom they have been unsuccessfully trying to get rid of for a long time. Egor’s clearance rate of cases is almost 100%, he prefers to work alone, and many believe that he has some special method of solving crimes. In an effort to impress his new superiors to obtain a future position, Volodymyr agrees to play the role of an “intern” and gather compromising information on Egor. After his very first case, Volodymyr finds evidence that Egor is a ratcatcher, and in his pursuit of solving crimes, he blatantly violates the law. However, he doesn’t turn in Egor to his supervisors. Volodymyr asks for an extension of his “internship.” Now, for him, it is far more important to understand and adopt the Ratcatcher’s method than to secure a position in the Interpol Department.
Short description: An action-packed detective story about a brutal, tough, but at the same time charismatic and experienced operative Yegor Bulatov, He is trying to catch the “werewolf in uniform” who is guilty of his partner’s death at all costs. For the sake of this goal, he gets a job in the Internal Security Service and takes up investigations with zeal, revealing the intricate and sophisticated schemes of dishonest police officers.
